Our Services...

Medical Transportation (Urgently need additional volunteers for this service):
Drivers take older adults to medical and therapy appointments.  Call our office at least three days before your medical or therapy appointment and we will find a driver for you.  Provide your, and your appointment's, name, address, and phone number; and the date and time of the appointment.

Friendly Caller Program
Our caring, dependable, adult volunteers call once a week, at a regularly scheduled time, for an informal chat.  The focus of this service is to let shut-ins know that someone is thinking about them, provide companionship, and assist older adults in maintaining connections within their community.  If you are interested in utilizing this service or in volunteering, please contact the SCFB office. Shopping Assistance (Planned):
Volunteers will take older adults grocery and pharmacy shopping, to the bank, hairdresser, library, or other local destinations. 

Handy Helpers (Planned):
Volunteers will perform minor home repairs to help keep the house safe and livable. 

Caregiver Support Group (Planned):
Periodically scheduled meetings will be held to provide information and encouragement to persons caring for a chronically ill or incapacitated person. 
 
RecordKeeping Assistance (Planned):
Volunteers will provide instruction and assistance in setting up a filing system and understanding banking, health insurance, and tax documents. They could also supply referrals when the services of a professional are needed.
